Editing film and video is about movement, choreography, the play of light, color, and graphics. And beyond all that, it's all about psychology.
In this 6-lesson course, you'll learn the art and craft of editing videos from two award-winning filmmakers.
The course explores techniques that can be applied in a range of non-linear editing programs, including Adobe after affects & adobe Photoshop.
But the main focus is not just on developing software skills; it's on exploring the magic behind video modification.

Challenging projects including editing a commercial, an interview, a narrative scene, a music video, a video diary, and a text title sequence.
Hands-on learning helps you explore how to apply time-honored principles of film editing using today's digital technology.

Important: Students will need access to a digital video camera and ability to connect it to a computer to capture footage.
Students will also need a non-linear editing program. The course includes full directions for Adobe after affects  and some Final Cut Pro
but students can use a non-linear editing program of their choice  Final Cut Pro, Premiere  i Movie, )

                Overview Of Film & Video Editing

The course is aimed at providing combination of the processes, characteristics, technology with management concepts and applications. Emphasis has been put on the syllabus on modern techniques, specialization after multi –functional gross exposure.If shooting is like generating the raw material of a film, the edit table is where the film finds its final processed & packaged form. The art of editing, no longer an invisible art as it used to be, is perhaps the very essence of Film Making. The Editor is the one who makes the final decisions about what needs to be seen and heard in a film, while also controlling its rhythm & pace. Extremely technical and yet tremendously artistic, a career in film and TV editing is monetarily as well as creatively satisfying.

The current trend is the non-linear editing system that digitizes and stores footage onto computer hard disk drives. Modern day software allows this video and audio information to be viewed, modified, and eventually played back in real time from the system, without changing the original rushes. The technology nowadays is such that it allows the Editor to directly broadcast his or her work in full resolution
from a workstation or print it to celluloid, videotape or hard disk.

Film editing is part of the post production process of film making but today editors have become part of the shooting team even on on location. As editing involves the selection and combining of shots into sequences, and ultimately creating a finished motion picture.It is an art of storytelling.Film editing is the only art that is unique to cinema, separating film-making from other art forms that preceded it.

Film editing is often referred to as the "invisible art" because when it is well-practiced, the viewer can become so engaged that he or she is not even aware of the editor's work. We train students in actual EditStudios with latest tools & techniques right from capturing the raw footage the Mastering

of the Final Program.
